The MXS 5.0 charger takes the award-winning MXS 4003 platform to the next level, with all of the important functions but with one whole ampere more than its predecessor. MXS 5.0 solves all battery-related problems that can be remedied before a battery must be discarded. It is a perfect charger for anyone who has high demands and expects effective, reliable and versatile usage. It has been developed with a function for analysing if the battery can be charged and if it can maintain the charge – an extremely important function for obtaining a reliable battery addition to being a little workhorse that produces rapid high-quality charging and mild and energy-efficient maintenance charging.
The MXS 5.0 also has other important functions. One example is the special reconditioning function that restores stratified and deeply discharged batteries. There is also an important function to face up to the tough demands associated with loading in severe cold and the demands associated with effective charging of AGM batteries. The extra 1A enables the charger to charge batteries from 1.2 Ah up to 110 Ah, or to handle maintenance charging of as much as 160 Ah.

8 Steps as Follows:
STEP 1 DESULPHATION Pulsing voltage removes sulphates from the lead plates of the battery restoring the battery capacity.
STEP 2 SOFT START Tests if the battery can accept charge. Charging begins if the battery is OK.
STEP 3 BULK Charging with maximum current until approximately 80 % battery capacity.
STEP 4 ABSORPTION, BATTERY READY TO USE Charging with declining current to maximize up to 100 % battery capacity.
STEP 5 ANALYSE Tests if the battery can hold charge. Batteries that cannot hold charge may need to be replaced.
STEP 6 RECOND Reconditioning function for deeply discharged batteries.
STEP 7 FLOAT, BATTERY FULLY CHARGED Maintaining the battery voltage at maximum level by providing a constant voltage charge.
STEP 8 PULSE, MAINTENANCE CHARGING Maintaining the battery at 95–100 % capacity. The charger monitors the battery voltage and gives a pulse when necessary to keep the battery fully charged.
